Who We Are

Mission Statement

We welcome people who are broken, hurting, weary, or simply searching for hope. Our desire is to help people find healing and restoration through God’s Word, genuine relationships, and the love of Christ — and then equip them to bring that same hope to others through the transforming power of the Holy Spirit.

In Short: “We are God’s people, transformed by God’s Spirit through God’s Word to continue the ministry of Jesus.”

Core Values

We Value God’s Reputation

We do all things for the glory of God.

1 Corinthians 10:31  “…whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.”

We Value God’s Creation

We treat every person as being made in the image of God.

Genesis 1:27  “So God created human beings in his own image. In the image of God he created them.

We Value Love as the Greatest of all Character Traits

We love agape’ style: by faith, not feelings.

1 Corinthians 13:4-7 “Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.”

We Value Perseverance and Endurance

We always go the extra mile for everyone.

Matthew 5:41  “If a soldier demands that you carry his gear for a mile, carry it two miles.”

How We Started

Our History

November 9th 2003: Calvary Chapel Arrowhead was formed as a second location by Pastor John Brown of Calvary Chapel Central. CCA met bi-weekly at Sierra Verde School in Glendale, AZ. The church grew and Pastor Dennis Templeton became the Senior Pastor in 2008.

December 2015: CCA moved to a bigger location, Candeo School in Peoria, AZ.

May 2018: CCA moved to a private space located in the Arrowhead Commerce Center on 84th Ave and Bell, also in Peoria, AZ.

February 2022: After 18 years of prayer and searching for a stand alone church building, we moved into our current location and changed our name from Calvary Chapel Arrowhead to The Branch Calvary Chapel.

About Calvary Chapel

We are a non-denominational church, affiliated with the Calvary Chapel Movement, subscribing to the same philosophy of ministry and expositional teaching of the Word of God.

Meet Our Pastor

Dennis Templeton

Pastor Dennis Templeton is the senior pastor of The Branch Calvary Chapel in Peoria, Arizona. Ordained in 1985, he has served with various Calvary Chapels throughout Arizona since 1983 in roles including youth pastor, worship leader, assistant pastor, and school administrator — surviving decades of ministry, worship rehearsals, and enough church potlucks to write a book about them.

Dennis graduated from Arizona State University with a degree in Education and has taught in private, charter, and public schools, as well as at Calvary Chapel Bible College in Murrieta, California. He continues to serve as an adjunct professor with Calvary Chapel Bible College in Peru, teaching and encouraging students preparing for ministry.

He is passionate about teaching God’s Word in a practical, conversational, and Christ-centered way that helps people grow in their relationship with Jesus.

Our Beliefs

WE BELIEVE there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (Genesis 1:1; Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; John 10:30)

WE BELIEVE in the deity of Christ (John 10:33); His virgin birth (Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:23; Luke 1:34-35); His sinless life (Hebrews 4:15, 7:26); His miracles (John 2:11); His vicarious and atoning death (1 Corinthians 15:3; Ephesians 1:7; Hebrews 2:9); His resurrection (John 11:25; 1 Corinthians 15:4); His ascension to the right hand of the Father (Mark 16:19); His personal return to earth in power and glory. (Acts 1:11; Revelation 19:11-16)

WE BELIEVE in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by Whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life. (Romans 8:13-14; 1 Corinthians 3:16, 6:19-20; Ephesians 4:30, 5:18)

WE BELIEVE in the absolute necessity of regeneration by the Holy Spirit for salvation because of the exceeding sinfulness of human nature, and that all are justified on the single ground of faith in the shed blood of Christ, and that only by God’s grace, through faith alone, are we saved. (John 3:16-19; 5:24; Romans 3:23, 5:8-9; Ephesians 2:8-10; Titus 3:5)

WE BELIEVE the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative, inerrant Word of God. (2 Timothy 3:15-17; 2 Peter 1:21).
